Aug 08 2016 News >> Latest News

YEDT is a collaborative venture between the Rotary Club of Hexham, The Think Physics initiative (Northumbria University) and the Friends of the Discovery Museum along with the Discovery Museum itself.

This year's competition was held at the Discovery Museum, Newcastle, on 7 July 2016 and is aimed at encouraging young people to take-up careers in the YEDT subjects.

The competition attracted 34 students from 8 schools: the high schools of Alnwick, Benwell Hill, Gateshead, Hexham, Kenton, Morpeth, Whitley Bay, and the academy, the Discovery School, in Newcastle.

The entries were of a high standard across a very wide range of activity and Friends of Discovery Museum provided 4 judges: John Chaney, Ian Burdon, Graham Bradshaw, Chris Watson; Hexham Rotary 3: Roger Abraham, Trevor Cessford, Paul Wharrier; Northumbria University 2: Emma Garrick, Kelly MacKinnon; Newcastle College 1: David Rogers.
